Maundy Thursday

I'm going to Cleveland again on Thursday, and even though I haven't exactly been stopping by regularly, maybe you have?

I just thought I'd mention it. Also: how I'm totally not going to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame no matter how much my mother begs and pleads. The CMA is lovely and free and has a ton of Gauguin, amen.

SURPRISE

Maybe you've noticed that I don't feel as compelled to write extensive, personal posts here. Maybe it's twitter (probably not). Maybe I've been looking at too many photo-blogs. Maybe I'm just unmotivated. I stopped making ladybugs, you know.

I guess I never mentioned those.

Typical Northern Cities

You know, Cleveland was so much prettier and filled with so many more domes than you'd imagine.

Mo' Kittens, Mo' Problems: On Getting What You Want

Photographs from a long-ago outing to the Hirshorn, where for a moment I thought my mother was having a nice time, when she said "You know, this is interesting". This inspired a little spiel on the merits of modern and contemporary art for the museum-averse, and its ability to provoke reaction, and thus conversation, versus the old-guard institution and its halls of hallowed oil paintings. Her reaction is visible below.
