Sometimes, I am not really sure if I am just full of the Christmas Spirit or if I actually am a Christmas Spirit. Name an island (or your grandmother) after me if you must. I will be busy baking cookies and lighting candles on the darkest night of the year.
Oh, rest assured, you most certainly are one!

ReplyDeleteI think most people, when they hear the song "My Favorite Things" think it is very cheesy and silly and, if they think about it some more, might agree that those things are sort of nice, and there is of course nothing wrong with kittens or kettles, but goodness they are not going to sing about it.
Now, I haven't felt the need to go around singing about it, but I think if I set out to make a list of my favorite things, snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes would certainly have a place. So would bright copper kettles, warm woolen mittens, and CERTAINLY whiskers on kittens.
That's really all. It may or may not be relevant.
As far as the song goes, I have almost always known all of the lyrics, and I don't think I have ever seen that movie in entirety. Whether that speaks to the promiscuity of that song, or an exposure to an unhealthy amount of seasonal music on my part is anybody's guess.
ReplyDeleteBut, in any case, as far as Christmas music goes, we're just skimming the surface of the fondue; you could do much worse. As far as your point goes... well you forgot about "bright paper packages," but to make anything of it would be titanically redundant. I'd say you have license to belt it out on the peaks of Switz--, er, ... The Enchanted Forest!
